Rayquaza is arguably one of the most iconic Legendary Pokémon coming from the Hoenn region, and with The Pokémon Trading Card Game market stronger than ever before, it’s only right to show you which of his cards are the most valuable. The flying dragon legendary Pokémon made his debut as a rookie in 2005, released in the EX Deoxys set. Ever since then, Rayquaza cards have been a fan favorite and one of the most popular legendary Pokémon to collect. If you ever collected Pokémon cards as a kid, you might want to check your closet because some of these prices are going to shock you. Here are the top 5 most valuable Rayquaza cards in 2025:

*Quick Note, these prices are based on NM (Near Mint) pricing within the Ludex App!*

5. Deoxys Rayquaza ex #102

Coming in at number 5, we have the 2005 Rayquaza EX from the EX Dragon Frontiers set. This card is another fan favorite of the Gen 3 Legendary Pokémon, featuring a powerful Rayquaza with a beautifully designed holographic background. It’s one of the classic Rayquaza cards and part of the first wave of EX cards that we see very often today, with raw copies going for around $160 in near mint condition. It’s an absolute classic from the early 2000’s and and definitely a must have if you’re a Rayquaza collector.

4. Rayquaza Call of Legends #SL10

If you are a fan of the Call of Legends set, you’ll know that the Rayquaza #SL10 card is stunning. It came from an expansion set of HeartGold & SoulSilver series back in 2011, which included 11 different shiny legendary Pokémon. While it didn’t get as much attention back in the day, collectors have been gradually catching on to its rarity and beauty. So, if you’ve been holding on to this card since you were a kid, let’s hope you kept it in a top loader because it’s selling for well over $300 in near mint condition.

3. Dragons Exalted Rayquaza #128

This card is by far, one of my favorites of Rayquaza and I actually think this card is a hidden gem. The artwork on this card is stunning, and it’s one of those cards that may not have been immediately recognized by collectors back in 2012, but now the demand is starting to increase. Out of 743 copies graded with PSA, this card has only gemmed 34 times making it that much more rare to find one in perfect condition. If you were looking to pick up a raw card of this beautiful Rayquaza in near mint condition, you can expect to spend around the $400 mark.

2. Rayquaza VMAX Alternate Art #218

Ludex Scan of Rayquaza VMAX

I know everyone chases the Umbreon VMAX Alternate Art Secret from Evolving Skies (I mean who wouldn’t, it sells for over $1,500), but I wouldn’t be too upset about pulling this insane Rayquaza Alt Art. As one of the standout cards in Evolving Skies, it’s no surprise that its value has shot up in recent months alongside the Umbreon VMAX. You’ll be able to find this card in near mint condition just upwards of $500, but I don’t expect this card to stay at this price for too long. Rayquaza’s VMAX #218 from Evolving Skies is already up over 27% from last month and it’s only going to continue to rise in price.

1. Deoxys Rayquaza Star #107

Ludex Scan Rayquaza Star

Here is what everyone’s been waiting for! It’s no surprise that the Rayquaza Star from the 2005 EX Deoxys set made it to number 1 on the most valuable Rayquaza’s list. It is an absolute gem and without a doubt one of the most sought-after Rayquaza cards out there. Why? Well, this card is a Star Pokémon, and that alone makes it incredibly rare. Its combo of rarity and nostalgia puts it as an absolute must-have for serious collectors. If you ever come across this card, expect to pay top dollar for this one. The estimated price for the highest valued Rayquaza card is just around the $1,200 mark. Recently on January 26th, a PSA 10 of this Rayquaza Star sold for nearly $44,000.

There is no doubt about it, Rayquaza is one of the most legendary Pokémon characters from Gen III. Obviously, adding any of these cards to your collection would be a massive addition. And if you do end up adding these to your collection, make sure you scan them with Ludex to organize and track the value over time!
