The 2025 MLB season is already looking completely different than last year—and we’re only one week in. Whether it’s the new addition of “Torpedo Bats” or MLB teams like the Tampa Bay Rays and Athletics playing in minor league stadiums, the league is off to crazy start. We’ve had players hitting for the cycle, players having multi-home run days, and multiple players with double-digit RBI’s already after just a handful of games. It’s a long season, and a week of games doesn’t define a player—but it can definitely impact a players card market with how volatile the market is. Now, with every team getting a week of playing time in, it’s time to take a look at the top 10 players—and how these performances are affecting the card market.

10. Andrés Giménez (Toronto Blue Jays)

Kicking off our list of the top 10 players from the Opening Week of the MLB is Andrés Giménez of the Toronto Blue Jays. He has started the season off hot, posting a .318 batting average with 3 home runs and a 1.241 OPS. The 3 home runs is an eye-catcher—especially considering it took him 49 games in his rookie year in 2020 with the New York Mets to reach 3 home runs. Giménez has never been known has a power hitter in his 5 years in the league, but he’s shown some flashes in the first week with his new team. The number that stands out in his stat line is his .818 Slugging Percentage, especially when you see that his career Slugging Percentage is only .398. Before the season started, you could find a 2018 1st Bowman Chrome Andrés Giménez Auto for $10—but after his hot start, it’s trending towards $20.

9. Fernando Tatis Jr. (San Diego Padres)

It’s hard to deny that when Fernando Tatis Jr. is on the field, he’s good for baseball. He’s only played 6 games so far, but in those 6 games, he’s been electric. With a .409 batting average and four stolen bases, he has led the San Diego Padres to a perfect 6-0 record. After missing the entire 2022 season due to a wrist surgery—and then getting suspended 80 games after testing positive for performance enhancing drugs—his card market took a big hit. Before the season kicked off, you could pick up a PSA 10 2019 Topps Chrome Fernando Tatis Jr rookie card for $20. Now, you’re looking at closer to $30.

8. Mookie Betts (Los Angeles Dodgers)

Next up on our list is Mookie Betts, the shortstop for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Even after battling a stomach virus and losing 15 pounds, Betts is still putting up impressive numbers to start his season. He missed the Dodgers’ Opening Day in Tokyo and the final two games of Spring Training due to the illness, and many thought it would take some time for Betts to get back into shape. Many of us who thought this were wrong, in four games, the former MVP has a .375 batting average and 3 home runs. I think it’s safe to say that the loss of 15 pounds had no effect on his power. This performance hasn’t moved his cards much since it’s only been 4 games, but I would keep an eye on his card especially if he continues hitting the ball like he has.

7. Carson Kelly (Chicago Cubs)

It’s hard to not put the only player in MLB history to hit a cycle in March—and the first Cubs player to hit one in 32 years. Although he’s not the Cubs’ starting catcher, he’s still putting up impressive numbers that might make manager Craig Counsel think twice before keeping him on the bench. In just 10 at bats, Kelly has a .500 batting average and 1.715 OPS. Now in his 10th MLB season and on a new team, Carson Kelly holds a career .226 batting average. He’ll continue to fight for a starting spot on the Chicago Cubs, and if he continues hitting like this we could see him take the spot over Miguel Amaya. Despite hitting for the cycle, the moment wasn’t enough to significantly move his card market. Kelly hasn’t had a particularly impressive career, but a breakout season at age 30 could spark renewed interest in his cards.

6. Elly De La Cruz (Cincinnati Reds)

After stealing 67 bases and hitting 25 home runs in his first full season in 2024, Elly De La Cruz has continued his dominance in 2025. In just five games so far, he’s managed to post a .350 batting average and 8 RBIs. He’s one of the few players in MLB to adopt the new “Torpedo Bat” and it seems to be working for him. In his first game using the bat, De La Cruz had a single, double, and two home runs with a career high 7 RBIs against the Texas Rangers in a 14-3 win. Elly De La Cruz has several improvements to make this season—especially after leading the league in strikeouts in 2024—but if he can cut down on them this year, you can expect his cards to skyrocket. Right now, you can pick up a PSA 10 2024 Topps Chrome Elly De La Cruz for around the $60 mark.

5. Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Dodgers)

It’s no surprise that Shohei Ohtani would make the top 10 players list. He doesn’t have the most impressive stats on this list, but he’s played in 7 games recording 14 total bases and a batting average of .280. It’s going to be tough to top his historic season last year—when he hit 54 home runs, stole 59 bases, and posted a .310 batting average—but I wouldn’t bet against him, especially since he could also be pitching this year. When Ohtani gets back on the bump and is pitching, expect his cards to take another jump—especially if he puts up strong numbers. Right now, you can expect to pay upwards of $272 for a PSA 10 2018 Topps Chrome Shohei Ohtani, according to the Ludex App.

4. Wilyer Abreu (Boston Red Sox)

It’s hard for me to put right fielder Wilyer Abreu at number 4, especially with a slash line of .636/.750/1.364. The 25-year old left handed bat has already produced 2 home runs and 6 RBIs through his first 5 games. While it’s still fairly early in the season, Abreu has shown the only life in the Red Sox lineup so far, with teammates like Ceddane Rafaela and Rafael Devers struggling to get hits. Before the season started, a PSA 10 2024 Topps Chrome Rookie Autographs Wilyer Abreu was selling as low as $50. Now, it has tripled with a recent sale of $150.

3. Eugenio Suárez (Arizona Diamondbacks)

Coming in at number 3, we have the Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman and MLB home run leader Eugenio Suárez. I wanted to rank Suárez at number 1, but the two players ahead of him were simply too deserving of the top spots. Suárez has been electric so far hitting 5 home runs, producing 11 RBIs, and a batting average of .278. The 11-year veteran’s card market has double his rookie card market with this beginning of the season surge, so I would keep an eye out on his cards in case he continues this hot streak. You can pick up a PSA 10 Topps Update Eugenio Suárez Rookie Card for $20 as of now.

2. Aaron Judge (New York Yankees)

Aaron Judge Rookie Card

It can’t be a top 10 list without both of the reigning MVP’s from the 2024 season. Unlike last year, Aaron Judge has had an extremely hot start to the year with a slash line of .400/.500/1.333 and 4 home runs in just four games. What really pushes him this high on the list is his dominant performance against the Milwaukee Brewers, where he hit 3 home runs and drove in 8 RBIs in a 20–9 win. Last season, it took Judge until the fifth week to reach the 4-home run mark—and he still finished with 58 homers in 2024. If he can maintain this level of production and avoid a cold streak, it’ll be exciting to see if he can break his previous record of 62 home runs. In the offseason, you could buy a PSA 10 2017 Topps Chrome Aaron Judge Rookie Card for $150. Now, the prices of this card is trending upward of $190.

1. Kyle Tucker (Chicago Cubs)

It seems like the move that the Chicago Cubs made in the offseason the acquire Kyle Tucker from the Houston Astros is already paying off and they are only 8 games in. Through those 8 games he’s posted a .353 batting average, 11 RBIs, and 4 home runs. In the Chicago Cubs recent 18-3 win over the Athletics, Kyle Tucker recorded a single, two doubles, and a home run which puts him on top of the best players of week one. Tucker’s card prices hasn’t moved much because most people anticipated him to do well in Chicago, so a PSA 10 2019 Topps Chrome Kyle Tucker Rookie Card can be bought for around $30.
