The LUDEX Story

Founder Brian Ludden has always been an athlete and a collector. He started collecting at a young age and has had a lifelong passion for all things sports. Having played basketball and baseball through college, he continues to have a pulse on trends in the sports market, remaining constantly curious and entrepreneurial.

Brian wanted to share his love of card collecting with his son yet they were getting constantly frustrated with the process and his beloved hobby began feeling more like a chore. Using his son’s Derek Jeter 1993 Upper Deck rookie card, he was curious to see its current value. Together he and his son began the tedious, archaic process to find the card’s value.

After a laborious process of looking through catalogs of data to find which card they had, he couldn’t help but think…there must be a better way.

Brian wanted to share his love of card collecting with his son yet they were getting constantly frustrated with the process and his beloved hobby began feeling more like a chore. This is when Brian started on his quest to find a better way to share his love of sports cards and collecting with the next generation.

Looking for more efficient methods to identify and verify what cards he had in his collection, Brian thoroughly researched what technology existed in the card collecting space. After an exhaustive review, he discovered that nothing existed to help alleviate the pain points he and fellow collectors experienced. It was then that the idea of LUDEX was born.
